Ethereal Wake
(2018)
Merging photography, sculpture, moving image and music, ‘Ethereal Wake’ highlights the dualities of water through the tensions within and beyond it’s surfaces. My own experiences of water drives a need within me to understand and control it, something impossible when considering the very vastness of the entity, thus my requisite to capture and contain it, blurring memory, experience and fantasy together. By shifting the focus from the images themselves to the language of movement and gesture of the material I am not only manipulating the images to create a new landscape, but echoing the beauty and danger of the wax and wane of water itself.
